To protect your images, you should make sure you that your library is backed up. In this video, Derrick Story shows you how.
- [Instructor] There are three basic ways…to backup your photos library.…One is to use iCloud.…Another is to copy your library…onto an external hard drive.…And the third would be using Time Machine.…If you're using Time Machine it does recognize…your photos library.…Now in terms of iCloud,…I like that the best, in the sense that you…don't have to think about it.…And I think those make the best…of backup situations where it just happens.…As your library grows, you may have to increase…the amount of storage space that you…have on iCloud and Apple makes that easy.…
But that's going to be a fact of life in most…situations in terms of, as your libraries grow,…so does your needs for additional storage.…But iCloud is just, really, a super way to go…and it's very smart.…If you want to backup onto a hard drive,…that's also a good method,…although a bit more work.…And one thing that you might want to do…in that case, then, is download the originals…to your MAC so that you would switch…that in preferences.…Give your MAC a day or so to get those originals.…
