Transferring photos to a Windows computer

So I have some pictures on a memory card that I want to transfer to my computer. We're going to use a memory card reader to bring them over to this machine. I have the memory card reader right here; you can see it is the EOS_DIGITAL right there. That's because I used a Canon camera to capture the images. Now the way that memory cards are set up that your photos will always be in the DCIM folder, right here. So I am going to double-click on that, and then inside this Canon folder; there are my pictures.

So I want to bring those into the computer, but I want to do so in an organized manner. So I am going to open up the receiving area here. Now there are two ways you can do this basically: you can copy the pictures to the hard drive on your computer, or you can copy the pictures to an external drive, either network connected or directly connected.
