Join Derrick Story for an in-depth discussion in this video Making color monochromes, part of Portrait Retouching with Aperture.
Another interesting adjustment in Aperture is the Color Monochrome adjustment.…I'm going to show you that right now.…And what I think is the best way to use it.…I have created a new version here, and we'll call it Edit Three, for this…particular exercise. And I'm going to go up to Add Adjustment,…and go to Color Monochrome right here. And we'll add that to our set.…And usually you'll get something in the beginning…that you don't like, but don't worry about that.…
What I like to do is back the Intensity off a…bit, and then, you can click on the down arrow here.…And get this pallet of color that you can used the eyedropper…tool with, but I think that there's an easier way to work.…So, I'm going to go ahead and close that and I'm going to…actually to click right here on the color swatch itself.…That brings up some different options, you have…a color wheel, you have the color pallet,…you have the spectrum and you have the Crayola crayons.…
The one I like, though, is the HSB sliders.…I just think they're easier to work with. So I have Hue here, so I can slide along…
