Join Derrick Story for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating a new library and determining its location, part of Using iPhoto and Aperture Together.
I'm going to show you how to create a new library in both applications, both…iPhoto and Aperture.…That way, you can just enter any way that you like.…We'll start with iPhoto and we have iPhoto open right now.…I'm going to go up to File, and then I'm going to go to Switch to Library.…Now, that's not super intuitive, but this is how you create a new library while…you have iPhoto already open.…You go to Switch to Library.…I'll click on that and you'll see right down here, we have the Create New button.…
I'm going to click on Create New, and we're going to go inside our Exercise…Files here and we'll go inside our libraries right here.…I could just give it, iPhoto library New.…Now, we're not going to keep this library, I'm just basically showing you how to create it.…So, just click the Save button right there.…Now, it's going to ask us, do we want to switch from our current iPhoto library…to the one we just created.…Yes, let's do that and it will relaunch just like that.…
We are now in the new library. Okay.…
