When not to gesture
- Okay. So, it's very important to understand that we don't always have to do gestures. When, in the beginning of the course, we did that example with our hands under our legs, it was interesting, not gesturing. There are scenes and reasons why we might never want our character to do anything. More often than not, status has a lot to do with that. But in these next clips, I want you to look for some of the reasons why the characters are not gesturing. And let's understand and talk about why that's happening or not happening. In these scenes, the equipment and all the stuff that they're doing is just so cumbersome, it doesn't make sense for a character in space to be doing complex gestures. So acting-wise, it's just a great idea and a great choice to not have characters gesturing. They're working. They're holding on, too.
