Intent of gestures
- One of the things that I always see in animation is that people don't have a specific intent of the gesture that they're trying to do. They're not understanding where it fits into the scene. Let's take a look at some of our actors doing the same action of getting someone's attention, and see the different ways that you could do this, and really understand the use of the gesture with this type of thing. All right, so you know, he's trying to get somebody's attention, right? And it's really clear, right? You know, what I love about this is, first off, as a pose, you know if you take the plumb line of the nose, the plumb line of the nose is right over the foot. Right, that's one thing, just in terms of weight and balance that's really nice, okay. The next thing is that, when we're gesturing, it's super clear, right. He's wearing a black shirt, but the white of his hand reads as a gesture. Even this gesture where he's kind of doing this what they call the hand scissors, is clear, and…
