Blocking out the timing
Now we have our basic shock planned out. And if you thumbnailed it, you know the poses that your character needs to take. So, the first step is to get the rough poses into the timeline. And then make sure that the timing of the character's motions is correct. Now we're going to be focussing mostly on the body on this first pass. Now, even though this is a facial animation course, remember we have to animate the entire character. So, the body motion of the character will also drive the face and the facial expressions. So let's get started with blocking in our rough pass. Now for my animation, these are the thumbnails that I have. So I'm going to try and get these six or so poses into the timeline so that way we can have some timing. The first thing we need to do is have an initial pose for the character. So in this case I want him to be kind of casual, kind of looking up and away to his left. Now I don't want his head straight on like this, so I'm going to turn his head a little bit…
