Animating a character from seated to standing: Creating the main poses
Now, let's take a look at a scene that has a more significant shift of weight. Here, we have a character that's going from seated to standing. So her weight really is doing a big shift. Here, her weight is firmly on the bench, and here her weight goes down through her feet to the ground. So let's take a look at how this works with just a very simple in between. And as you can see, it doesn't really look realistic. That's because she needs to get her whole body into the scene. Now when you create a large shift in weight, you do need to anticipate and then follow through with that motion to get the body moving so that you can shift the weight. So, in this case she's going to anticipate that by leaning back. Now, in order to get enough room for this to happen, we need to expand our two main poses. We need to push this last pose back.
