Android 8 and the support libraries have a new feature that lets you use downloadable fonts in your apps. You can use these in a couple of ways—you can download the fonts programatically with either the core SDK if your app’s minimum SDK is API 26 or later; or, as will be more common, with the support library’s version of the API for apps that have at least a minimum SDK of API 14.
