Units of measurement in Android: Android Development Essential Training: Design a User Interface

Get an overview of the Android SDK, which supports a set of measurement units that you can reference in your XML layout files. Two of these, known as device- and scale-independent pixels, adjust automatically to screens of different sizes and pixel densities. The others are fixed units such as physical pixels and inches. These are seldom used in Android apps since they don't adjust to different screens.
