- Lists, we all use them for shopping, to-do items, reminders, and that can cause a lot of paper. There are many list types, and therefore, a number of virtual list options available. To understand how best to choose a virtual list format and use it effectively, let's first look at the types of lists and their particular features. What type of list you're keeping determines what features your virtual list will need. There are two primary types of lists, Informational and Action. The Informational List is less frequently used and updated and does not rely as heavily on prioritization, reminders, or deadlines. These lists can often consist of a main category and have several similar items on the list itself. Some examples would be grocery shopping, books to read, gift ideas, or even a packing list.
