- The final part of composing our thing…is connecting to the network.…Connecting to the network can be done in one of many ways,…Wired Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth.…Or some kind of Custom RF, such as ZigBee.…Basically there has to be some way of getting data…out of your sensors, through the CPU and memory,…and to the network, and getting data from the network…back through your CPU to your affectors.…Now the reason I even include wired Ethernet,…is you could build an internet of thing's thing…using a Raspberry Pi, which has an RJ11 Ethernet connector…right there on the board.…
Or you can use WiFi, with a Raspberry Pi or some of the…kind of things we're going to use later in the course here.…A WunderBar or a Tessel.…You can use Bluetooth and use your Android phone or tablet…as the intermediary.…And the Philips Hue lighting system we're going to use…in the application we'll do later, actually uses custom RF,…namely ZigBee, to talk between it's WiFi bridge…and the lamps.…So there's many different possibilities,…but it's just useful to understand…
