Install Android Studio on Windows: Android Studio Essential Training (2016)

Before installing Android Studio on Windows, you should first make sure that you have the required versions of the operating system and of Java. The Android SDK requires at least Windows XP and will run best on newer systems with at least four gigabytes of RAM. You also need to have the Java Developers Kit or JDK installed. The Java Runtime Environment isn't enough. To check your Java version, go to a command prompt on Windows, and type java -version. This tells you which version of Java you have installed. As of the time of this recording, the best version to have is the most recent version, Java 8.
