Install Android Studio on Mac OS X: Android Studio Essential Training

Before installing Android Studio on Mac OS X, make sure that you have the required versions of the operating system and of Java. Check your operating system version by clicking the Apple menu and choosing About This Mac. To program with the Android SDK, you need at least version 10.5.8. Next, check your Java version. Go to Terminal and type the following: java -version. I recommend using the most recent version, Java 8.
