Connect a physical device for testing: Android Studio Essential Training (2016)

In order to connect a physical device to Android Studio you have to put it into Developer mode. You do this through the Device Settings. On Android 6 Marshmallow, swipe down twice and then touch the Settings icon. On earlier versions of Android, you can open the Settings app. Next scroll down to the bottom of the Settings list. If you don't see Developer options there then you need to follow this process to turn them on and then you'll be able to turn on the USB Debugging feature.
