Run view animations with Java: Animations and Transitions in the Android SDK

No matter whether you’re working with an ImageView, a TextView, or any other kind of View object, you can animate it in more recent versions of Android with just a couple of lines of code. This is made possible by the the View class’s animate() method, which was added in Android 3.1. Your app’s minimum SDK must be set at API level 12 or higher, or you'll need to wrap these calls in conditional code, it won’t work in older versions of Android such as Gingerbread.
