Define multiple scenes: Android App Development: Animations and Transitions

Each scene in a transition is defined in an XML layout file. These are the same kinds of files you use to define activity layouts, so if you’re adding the Transitions Framework to an existing app you can start with your existing layouts. Without the transitions framework, to switch from one layout to another you might create multiple activities or fragments. With the framework, you can start with a single activity layout file that just has a FrameLayout as its root element.
