- [Narrator] One of the most pervasive myths with regard to cloud migrations is that you should be running every application in the cloud and nothing on-premises. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. There are some applications that are far better suited to running on-premises than in the cloud. But having said that, there are also other applications that probably need to be retired. So let's talk about some of those applications. There are any number of reasons that might justify retiring an application. For starters, if you have an application that's no longer being used, then it probably doesn't make sense to continue to invest money in maintaining that application, it might be better to go ahead and retire it. It might also be time to retire an application if an alternative application exists and that alternative is clearly superior to the application that you're thinking about retiring.
