- [Instructor] Before you watch this course, there are a few basic things that you need to know. First, it's a good idea to have some basic familiarity with AWS EC2. That's Amazon's cloud platform for running virtual machines. You're also going to need a basic working knowledge of either VMware, Hyper-V, or Microsoft Azure, because the whole point of this course is that we're going to be migrating VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure virtual machines to AWS EC2. I also highly recommend checking out my course, Design a Cloud Migration Strategy. You can find that in the LinkedIn Learning library. Now, Design a Cloud Migration Strategy isn't truly a prerequisite to this course, but it's a good idea to watch that one first, because that course deals with all of the planning that goes into a virtual machine migration. In this course, I'm going to be showing you the how-to part of the migration, but I'm not going to get into the planning. And it's important to plan your migration ahead of time, rather than just jumping in and doing it. So these are the basic things that you're going to need to know before watching this course.
