What is SWF?
- [Instructor] When you're dealing with complicated workflows, such as the enrollment process for our university, keeping up with where a 1,000 applicants are at in the enrollment process can be quite a chore. Applicants can get stuck anywhere in the system. For instance, if the application process sends them an email asking them to say pay their application fees and that email goes into their spam folder and the applicant doesn't see it, then they just kind of get stuck. It might be nice for our system to do something clever like try and email them again, and if we still don't get a response from them, it notifies someone at admissions so that they can give 'em a call. In most of the systems I've dealt with the position of where an applicant is at in this flowchart or their current state, is usually tracked by the database.
