Verify your email address with SES
- When you first sign up to use SES, you start in the Sandbox, which is limited to 200 emails over a 24-hour period, and you can only send email to approved email addresses. Each approved email address has to be sent a link to verify ownership of that email address. Because of these limitations, you can't start sending out mass messages to your users yet, but you can start developing your email sending solution with a few test email addresses before requesting a rate increase with SES and going live. We're going to add our email address as an approved email address so we can start sending test messages to ourselves. From the SES console, under the Identity Management in the left-hand toolbar, we'll click on Email Addresses. Then, click on the Verify New Email Address button. In the modal window that types up, I'll type my email address in the Email Address field and click on the Verify This Email Address button.
