Understand the AWS shared security model

- [Instructor] A key aspect of implementing security for your Amazon applications is understanding the AWS shared responsibility model, and at the top level there's really two sections. First is the Amazon section, and those are the areas that Amazon is responsible for, and they call it responsibility for security of the cloud, and those would be your key services such a compute, storage, database, networking depending on how you purchase the services. So compute, EC2, storage, S3, database if you work with managed solution like RDS or the serverless solution like dynamo, and then the underlying AWS global infrastructure, so regions, availability zones, and edge locations. One of the things I find with customers that are new to the cloud is they of course are apprehensive because the data is moving into somebody else's location, basically, but unless you run a data center on premise, actually you're data already is in somebody else's location.
