Track SES usage with CloudWatch
- Once you start sending higher volumes of email with SES, you will want to know how much email your application is sending. Depending on how your application works and your normal email sending patterns, you may want to watch for unexpected spikes to let you know something might be wrong in your application. There is nothing worse than getting your AWS bill and finding out some bad code was sending a ton of unexpected messages. One way we can get a quick glance at our delivery rates is by looking at the SES metrics in the SES console. So from the SES console, click on Sending Statistics, underneath the Email Sending header. Your current sending limits with SES are listed in this first section. This bar graph here will tell you how many messages that you've sent and how many you have left remaining before you hit your sending limits.
