Scalable NoSQL data store (DynamoDB)
- DynamoDB is a no sequel, non-relational schema less database service that has been built from the ground up, to deliver low latency, high performance and high throughput. It scales automatically to meet application throughput requirements. Instead of using traditional hard drives, the data is stored on solid state drives, which provides fast data access. Data stored on DynamoDB is automatically replicated across multiple availability zones to ensure durability. As a cloud application architect, it is important to know about the different persistent data storage options AWS provides. As well as the reasons, why one may be better suited than another, for certain use cases. In addition to DynamoDB being an option as a database tier, it is also an effective tool to help create stateless servers. Sometimes, maintaining state is required in an application. A common example is user session management. When an application…
