- [Narrator] SWF has some terms that you're going to need to understand before diving in and creating your first workflow. Each of your projects could have multiple workflows, and you could be using your AWS account to support several projects, such as the enrollment process for the registrar department and also a help desk ticketing system for the IT department. Now each department will need its own domain in SWF, which is just a grouping of all your workflows for a single project. A workflow is a series of activities, or workflow steps, and your workflow needs to have a clear start and end condition. Activities are registered as activity types because you might have the same activity replayed a few times within your workflow, but you'll only ever define it once.
