SES bounce notifications with Simple Notification Service (SNS)

- Amazon requires that you keep your bounce rate below 10%, and your complaint rate below 1/10th of a percent. A bounce is when Amazon can't deliver your message and it needs to be marked return to sender. And a complaint is when one of your users has marked your message as junk. You need to know which email addresses on your email list are causing your bounce and complaint rates to go up, because you need to quickly remove them from your email list before you try sending email to them again, which would further decrease your sender reputation and then you would risk probation. The simplest way to maintain a healthy email list is to have Amazon send you an email each time a message bounces or is marked as junk. Let's take a look at how we can do that. From the SES console, click Domains under Identity Management. Click the checkbox next to your domain, and click View Details. Click on Notifications, and click on Edit Configuration.
