Request Spot Instances: Part 1

- [Instructor] To request Spot Instances, we'll log into the AWS Console and navigate to the EC2 service. Click on Spot Requests on the left, and then click on Request Spot Instances. There are four types of requests that we can make, depending on the application or task we plan to execute. The first one is for Load balancing workloads. This launches instances of the same size, in any Availability Zone. The second one is for Flexible workloads. This launches instances of any size, in any Availability Zone. The third one is for Big data workloads. This launches instances of any size, in a single Availability Zone. And, the last one is for Defined duration workloads. This allows you to launch instances for a block of one hour to six hours. AWS regularly updates the features and options available on the user interface.
