- [Instructor] The reliability pillar, part of the well-architected framework, is focused on reliability. No surprise. How do I get reliability in the cloud? Well, I have to follow a well-known set of design principles that have evolved over time. A lot of them are definitely best practices that you should follow. Now to get there, you have to ask yourself some questions. You have to answer some questions, and then you'll get feedback from Amazon so you can achieve the desired reliability while operating in the cloud. You need your application to be able to recover. If there's a computer problem, if there's a database issue, if there's a connectivity issue, how does your application continue to operate? If it's really important to you, you might find that you have to have your application operating at a different scale level. Maybe instead of operating just in one data center, you operate in multiple data centers…
