- Now, before we get into all of the nitty gritty details of what Amazon Web Services has to offer, I want to take it to a higher level and help you understand fundamentally the core components of the AWS platform. So what is really everything that Amazon offers built on top of. And that's what we want to explore here. The first thing to understand is that it's built on top of compute capabilities. So what this means is that you have some processors available to you within the cloud. But it's more complicated than that. Because it's not just about processors. If I'm going to do something with a processor, I need memory, right? If I'm going to do something with a processor in memory, I might need to pull data from somewhere. That's either going to be a network source or a local storage source or remote storage source. So I've got to have storage. So when it comes to compute, you have to think about it in perspective…
