Planning AWS for backup: File storage

- [Instructor] Backup and recovery are practices that protect our data from loss. Common solutions cover hardware failure, electrical events, physical destruction, and natural disaster. Fortunately over time, our hard drives and operating systems have become more robust, and cloud storage is able to cover loss and solutions that were too expensive or impractical in the past. Options from cloud hosts means I need to create work flows for storage, lifecycle, retention, and restoration. AWS builds these needs naturally into their S3 Management Console. Before me migrate all the data in our office, let's cover backup and recovery for files and folders in AWS. Back in the AWS Management Console, we'll type S3, select it, and here we are with our awsexamplesolution bucket. We'll select that, and before we get to retention and backup, we're going to create a folder that we can put our data in. Our new folder will be called awsdocuments.
