Order an Elastic IP address

- [Mark] When ordering an elastic IP address, we can go to two locations. We could go to EC2 for EC2 instances or we could go to VPC. The reason for that is that Amazon didn't always have VPCs, but they did have elastic IP addresses, so let's go over to EC2 and look at elastic IP addresses and then compare with the VPC. Going into services and selecting EC2, and then scrolling down, under network and security, we can see elastic IPs. We can see there is an elastic IP address in my account, it's associated, let's go and look under VPCs. Back up to services and we'll search for VPC, and go into the VPC Console. Again we see elastic IPs. We have a mirror image going on here. We'll still pointing to the same exact location. In the current status of building networks at AWS, you must use a VPC. So it shows up in both locations, it doesn't really matter which one you use. So to allocate an elastic IP address, we'll click allocate new address. Again, the question of where are you going to…
