Move out of the SES sandbox
- Okay, you've got your application configured to use SES and a system for how you're going to handle bounces and complaints, but before you start sending email to real users, you need to request a rate increase with Amazon and ask to be taken out of the sandbox. Remember that you're limited to only 200 emails per day. And of course, the real issue is that you can't send emails to anyone who's not already approved. So, once your business gets rocking, you'll definitely want to get out of the sandbox. Let's take a look at how we can do that. In the SES console, click on the Sending Statistics, underneath the Email Sending header. Then click the Request a Sending Limit Increase button. Amazon has pre-filled a support case to request the rate increase. Under Request One, in the Region pull-down, select the AWS region you selected earlier when you set up SES. In the Limit field, select the Desired Daily Sending Quota and calculate how many email messages you'll send into SES on any given…
