Monitoring SQS

- [Instructor] Amazon SQS is a managed queue service that allows you to send and receive messages with a queue. Amazon SQS queues can be monitored using the SQS console, the CloudWatch console, and the AWS CLI. CloudWatch metrics for the active SQS queues are automatically collected and pushed to CloudWatch every five minutes. A queue is considered active for up to six hours if it contains any message. CloudWatch supports both standard and FIFO queues. Note that at the time of this recording, detailed metrics, also known as one minute metrics, are not available for SQS. To view the metrics from the SQS console, select the required queue and navigate to the Monitoring tab. This will show the different metrics available.
