- [Instructor] To keep an eye on how much you're spending on AWS, you'll want to go to the billing service. In here, you can get the estimated charge for your month, and just so you're never surprised, you can go to the billing preferences and sign up to receive billing alerts by checking this box and saving your preferences. Then, you can go to manage billing alerts. This brings up cloud watch, and under alarms you can click on billing, and then you can create a new alarm. You want to set the metric to be the billing service down here at the bottom, for the total estimate charge, in whatever currency you're interested in. Then, you can verify the different settings that you have automatically come up, and mainly, I'm concerned with setting my threshold to $25, and be notified if it's greater than that.
