- In the previous chapter, we were learning about managing our databases, looking at what we can do to manage and maintain the databases themselves, but we can't just leave the database management system to itself, it needs management too. So we've got to know how to manage the database systems as well. And we're going to start here in the first episode, by looking specifically at AWS RDS. This is one of the major places where people manage databases, is in fact, probably better than 85% of all databases running on AWS are running in AWS RDS, or they're running in an unmanaged instance, one of the two. And so for that reason, it's important for us to understand what we can do to manage this once we get it up and running.
