- [Instructor] Let me begin by asking a simple question. Why do you want to migrate to the cloud? Most of the time when a business makes a decision to move some or all of its workloads to the cloud, it's because there's some perceived business benefit to doing so. The reason why I mention this is because stating the reason why you want to migrate to the cloud upfront can help you to define goals for the migration process, and goals are important. Once you set goals you can begin to define migration objectives and to prioritize the tasks that will help you to achieve those goals. Perhaps even more importantly, documenting your goals upfront can help you to assess the success of your migration efforts. Otherwise it can be difficult to quantify whether or not your migration was truly successful. So let's talk about a few examples of goals for the migration process. One possible goal might be to reduce your operating cost through pay-as-you-go pricing, and I mentioned earlier that…
