How do I check my DNS records?
- While we are waiting for SES to verify our domain, we can query our new DNS records and verify that they were successfully created. It can take SES up to 72 hours to verify the new DNS records. You'll receive an email after that window if they weren't created properly. Then you'll need to edit your DNS records once more and wait up to another 72 hours to see if SES can verify the domain. This is too much time. Since we want to get up and running fast, we're going to query the DNS records ourselves, just like SES is doing right now to verify the domain and fix our DNS records before SES even lets us know there's a problem. If you are on a Mac or Linux computer, open a terminal window. If you are on Windows, open the command prompt. To query our DNS records, or our domain name system records, we're going to use a command line tool called nslookup, which is short for name server lookup.
