- [Instructor] When we are using public IP addresses at AWS, we haven't had a lot of control over the years because these have been controlled totally by Amazon themselves. So, as mentioned earlier a subnet attribute determines whether or not an instance gets a public IP address. And that address leaves when the system gets turned off. So, creating a public IP address for constant use for a web server, these aren't that useful. We also know that we can use elastic IP addresses and an elastic IP address is a static public IP address and assigned to my account and they could be moved from one instance to another instance. However, there's only a limited pool of these public IP addresses. Yes, they are advertised across the internet, but a lot of customers have said for years, hey Amazon, I've got public IP addresses that I want to use in your cloud, why can't I use my own ranges? So last year in 2019, they announced Bring Your Own IP, which means I can bring my trusted public IP address…
