- [Instructor] To create an alarm, while on the AWS CloudWatch homepage, we need to navigate to the Alarms by using a left side navigation bar. Let's start by creating a new Alarm, using the grid Alarm button. As a first step, we need to select the metric, that we want to monitor. Here, we are going to create an alarm on our API gateway requests. So we need to find the API gateway Namespace. Next let's go to the By API Name category. And now we need to choose the metric that we want to monitor. For this demo, we are going to monitor all the requests, that and in 500 error codes, or more specially the validation exception errors. Let's select the Metric, and then use a select Metric button on the Metric configuration page. We need to configure the Metric statistics detail.
