- This is a really good point to talk about something important about the AWS Certified Database Specialty certification. This is focused on getting databases into AWS. Now, in order to do that, you need to understand how databases work, how databases are structured, how they're designed and planned and so forth. But, keep in mind that the main focus of this certification is going to be on the database management system, even more than your databases. So because of that, we need to move beyond the database. We need to talk about more than just the database. That's just one part of the certification. More of the focus of this exam, in my experience, was actually on the database management system. And so, you need to understand how to plan for those as well, and that's what we're talking about in this episode. Database solutions should include the database and the DBMS on which it runs.
