Creating instance-based databases
- When it comes to creating instance based databases, there are really two ways you can go about it. One, you can deploy an instance that actually already has a database instance functionality set there in that, in other words, it's not just an OS, it's an OS with a database already loaded. The other option would be to simply load a default OS instance of Linux or Windows, and then once you get it up and running, manually install the database system you want on it. So there are a couple of ways to go. If you want it to be a completely free option, you will need to go with Linux with nothing on it but the OS, and then usually the best way to go is the Amazon Linux AMIs. So, let's take a look at the marketplace and just see what options are available to us there.
