Creating an RDS subnet group

- [Instructor] Let's explore how to set up a multi availability zone RDS database. The first thing on the to do list is to create a subnet group in which the database will live. Before getting into the AWS console, let's visualize what we're about to do. In the Ohio region there are three availability zones I can spread my resources across. I have my development VPC with public subnets in three separate availability zones. I also have created a private subnet in each of the three AZs for use with RDS. If you're interested in the details of constructing your own VPC, please check out my networking in AWS course in the library. The first thing I need to do in preparation for using RDS is to create an RDS subnet group in this VPC.
