This video walks through the process of creating an Amazon Developer account and an Amazon Web Services account. The Amazon Developer account is needed to configure the Alexa Skill while the Amazon Web Services account is what will be used to configure and to deploy a Lambda function that will serve as the skill handler.
- [Instructor] In order to create Alexa skills,…you need to have an Amazon Developer account.…If you have one already created…we will be using it a little later on.…If you don't have an Amazon Developer account,…you'll need to set one up.…If you already have an Amazon shopping account,…you should be able to use this to log…to the Amazon Developer portal.…Or if you want to keep things separate,…you can create a separate Developer account.…To create an account,…head over to developer.amazon.com in a browser…and you can click on the Sign In link at the top.…
On this screen you'll see an option…to create your Amazon Developer account.…So you can click on that button.…All you need to do is provide a few pieces of information,…such as your name, email address, and a password.…The account is free…and there are a lot of resources and learning opportunities…available to Amazon Developers.…Please complete this step now…as we need this account when we configure…our Alexa skill.…
When we create our Alexa skill handler,…one option available to us for hosting the handler…
