- [Instructor] So let's take a look at how to create a read replica of a database. Right now, I'm logged into the AWS console, and I'm looking at the Amazon RDS dashboard. Now before we can create a read replica, we need to enable backup on this database. So I'm going to go ahead and click on the database, and then I'm going to go to the configuration tab, and I'll scroll down. And here, we have an option for automated backup. I'm going to go ahead and select that. And I'll click apply now. I'll click on confirm, and automatic backup has been enabled. So let's go back to the list of databases. I'm going to go ahead and select the databases tab. And this is going to display a list of the databases that have been created. You can see that I've got my demo-db-instance database, and that's the database that's being used by the web application that we created in one of the earlier videos.
