In this video, explore and execute the initial steps to prepare an EC2 instance for use with CodeDeploy.
- [Instructor] Now that we have our IM roles created,…we're going to need some instances…that will work with CodeDeploy.…Our deployment group and a set of instances associated…with our CodeDeploy app can be comprised of any combination…of auto scaling groups, individual EC2 instances…identified by a certain tag value,…and on-premises instances.…The only common denominator…is that they must all have the CodeDeploy agent installed…and must be equipped…with a CodeDeploy instance profile that we just created.…For this demo, I'd like to create an auto scaling group…with a launch configuration that will work for CodeDeploy.…
We'll need to do this by hand,…so we'll head into the EC2 console.…We'll go down to the auto scaling section here on the side…and choose launch configurations.…Remember that a launch configuration is an object…that contains all the decisions that you would make…if you were creating an EC2 instance from scratch.…Let's create a new launch configuration.…We start with a base image.…We'll choose Amazon Linux.…
