CloudWatch Events
- [Instructor] We know that CloudWatch works with metrics and alarms and will alert us when there's an issue with one of our resources. But we can also use CloudWatch Events. An event is a near real-time stream of system events that are being monitored by CloudWatch and any change to an actual resource at Amazon can actually fire off an event, which in turn is linked by a rule defining what you want to do when that event happens. If you think of EC2 instance, the instance boots, it runs for a while, it shuts back down. What happens if the EC2 instance boots, but runs into trouble? Well, events communication from that EC2 instance are generated, indicating it's in trouble. What can happen when that event fires, is it matches a rule that says, if that EC2 instance is having trouble booting and running on the hardware where it was first launched, let's automatically route that EC2 instance to other hardware and start it…
