- [Instructor] There are some major benefits of using the cloud from both a business and technical perspective. Cloud services provide greater flexibility for controlling costs than traditional on-premise hosting environments. The cloud allows for minimum upfront investment in the infrastructure needed to launch an application. Companies don't have to purchase or manage racks, physical servers, power supplies, routers, cables, and all the parts and the connections between them that are needed to host the technology product. The cloud offers something referred to as just-in-time infrastructure. This refers to the ability to only allocate and use exactly what is needed, and only when it is needed. No more having to guess the capacity of resources to provision when launching new applications. And no more incurring the unnecessary cost when getting this wrong.
