- [Narrator] Amazon CloudFront is a CDN service offered by Amazon. CDN stands for content delivery network. A CDN is a large network of distributed caching servers that help deliver content to end-users in the most performant manner by attempting to store the data as close as possible to the origin of the requests being made for that data. A typical website generally has a mix of both static and dynamic content to be delivered to the end-user. Static content are things like images, style sheets, and JavaScript files. These often get stored on the web server. An essex request for these assets have to be requested from the web server. User requests have to be routed through the internet which can take several DNS hops and pass and every single one must resolve to the web server to return the content. This can both result in high latency, due to the users being at large geographical distances from the location of the web…
