Basic VM migration limitations

- [Instructor] Before you begin migrating virtual machines to the Amazon Cloud using the server migration service, there are any number of things that you're going to need to check on your virtual machine to make sure that the VM complies with Amazon's requirements. For example, there are a number of image format requirements in the case of Hyper-V Generation one and Generation two virtual machines are both supported, but if your Hyper-V Virtual Machine is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version five, it has to be configured to use VHD disks. Additionally, Hyper-V Virtual Machines can't be configured to use a mixture of VHD and VHDX disks, both. You're going to need to settle on one or the other. Now, in the case of VMware Virtual Machines, you're going to need to make sure that the virtual machine uses a VMDK-based virtual hard disk.
