Learn about cloud service billing charges.
- [Instructor] As you're getting started preparing to study for and to have success with an Amazon exam, you want to start with the Amazon website. So, awsamazon.com is the core website where you access the services. Although I'm going to talk a lot about written resources, such as white papers and architectural guidance, in this course, there is no substitute for actually working with the services. I really don't think there's any way you could have success in any of the exams if you didn't sign up and have an account, so I'm going to start with that.
It's important to understand that, while Amazon has a free tier for most of the services, this is a commercial product, and you could incur charges. Once you sign in, and this is what it looks like after you sign in, and this is the user for this course. If you click by your user name, you can see Billing Dashboard. This is a really important aspect of working with any cloud based services, understanding costs. You might as well start, when you're learning about the services in general, also understand the costs by reviewing the billing dashboard.
It's just a tip I wanted to give you as you get started working to prepare for the Amazon certification exams.
